Rock-a-Bye Baby

April 1, 2008 at 10:00 pm (Cupcake, Ha ha, Sprinkles) (, , )

My youngest daughter Sprinkles (15 mo.) still hasn’t fully recovered from the flu.  She was crying so I started rocking here and singing “Rock-a-Bye Baby”.  All of a sudden, my oldest daughter Cupcake (almost 3) started screaming.

Me:  What’s wrong?

Cupcake:  That song is HORRIBLE!   It is a terrible song.

Me:  Why were you screaming?

Cupcake:  It was HURTING ME!  It hurts to listen to it.

Me:  Okay, I’ll stop singing.

Cupcake:  You can keep singing, but PLEASE…not that song.  Who made up that song anyway?

She cracks me up.

Cheers,

Musical Garbage

February 22, 2008 at 2:24 pm (Ha ha, Uncategorized) (, )

I found a funny note from my husband on the counter on Wednesday morning.

It read:

***********************************************************************

“Happy Birthday sweetheart.  I hope you have a terrific day.  I am so thankful to have you in my life. You are an incredible wife and mother.

Love, T

P.S.  I took out a musical bag of garbage this morning.  I set the bag in the garage and I heard “Listen to my banjo play!” and music started.  So I had to dig through it.  The toy is in the sink.

***********************************************************************

Apparently Sprinkles learned how to throw toys in the garbage can.  Nothing like a reality check along with sweet sentiments from my husband.

I felt like a terrible mother today!

February 16, 2008 at 11:19 am (Doctor Appointments, Sprinkles, Vaccinations) (, , , )

Sprinkles had her one year check-up today which was fine and dandy.  It was quite pleasant at first.  I love her doctor and it was fun to see her and brag tell her all about Sprinkles’ massive vocabulary (35 words!) and her accomplishments.

But then we got to the end of the appointment and the dreaded vaccination shots.  She had six shots (one was a flu shot) and they also had to draw blood to do a lead test.  I felt awful having to help hold her little legs down.  At least two nurses were there to give her shots at the same time but it was still awful.  She was crying “Mama, no!”  It totally broke my heart!

She recovered quickly and is feeling okay.  Her legs are a little sore but nothing major.

I am thankful she won’t remember today although I will never forget.
