The Week of the Did NOTS
This has been a crazy week. I have been watching my 16 month old niece (along with my own children (2 3/4 and 14 mo.) every day. My uncle passed away (I am thankful he is no longer in pain) and I’ve had family here from out of town all week.
So forgive me for not posting this past week. I have literally not had a moment to myself!
The good news is that my alcoholic recovering alcoholic brother and I did NOT get into any massive fights about his drinking. And I did NOT lose my temper when my brother tried to give my daughter Sprinkles (14 months) Mountain Dew in a bottle. (She doesn’t even drink out of a bottle! And she is most definately NOT allowed to drink pop.) But lets just say I DID win that battle.
My children did NOT throw up in the car on the way to or from the funeral (1 hour away). Did I mention my kids get carsick often?
I did NOT panic and was somehow able to feed 6 extra people with food in my pantry and freezer all week.
And I did NOT wring my sister-in-laws neck. It was quite successful overall I think.
And just when I would like to get back to posting…I am NOT going to be around for most of the week. But I did NOT (okay, so I know this is getting annoying but I couldn’t help myself) feel too disappointed because we are going on a mini vacation free of charge.
How do you ask? My husband has managerial training that happens to be at a hotel that has an indoor waterpark. Cupcake, Sprinkles and myself are ecstatic! It should by fun. My husband has seminars during the day but will partake in the water extravaganza in the evenings.
